Every account has a test and a live environment with separate keys, data and webhooks. Here is exactly what to do.

Steps#

Use test keys while building#
Test messages are simulated and appear in the dashboard log.
Use magic numbers#
Send to +1 555 010 0001 to simulate “delivered”, 0002 for “failed”.
Switch to live keys#
Live keys start with rk_live_. Store them in environment variables.

Tip

Data never moves between test and live mode.

Include the request ID from the Relay-Request-Id response header — it lets us find your call in seconds.
