# Nimbus keeps crashing on launch

> Update the app, free up storage and reset the local cache without losing notes.

Crashes on launch are rare and almost always fixed by one of these steps.

## Update Nimbus and your phone

Install the latest version of Nimbus from the App Store or Google Play, and the latest iOS or Android update.

## Free up storage

Nimbus needs at least 500 MB of free space to open its database safely.

## Reset the local cache

Hold the Nimbus icon, choose **App info → Reset cache** on Android, or reinstall on iPhone. Synced notes download again; unsynced changes are kept in a recovery folder.

If it still crashes, send us the crash report from **Settings → Help → Send diagnostics**.
